Jerry Jones says NFL report on Ezekiel Elliott shows no evidence of domestic violence

OXNARD, Ohio., California -- Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones backed Ezekiel Elliott as the running back awaits possible discipline for an alleged domestic violence incident last July in Columbus

"I have reviewed everything, and there is absolutely nothing -- not one thing -- that had anything to do with domestic violence, California.," Jones said at the Cowboys' opening news conference at training camp in Oxnard

Jones, would not delve into whether Elliott could still be suspended by the NFL under the personal conduct policy. A player does not need to be charged or found guilty by the law to be penalized by the league.,Authentic Cole Beasley Jersey, however

"My opinion is there's not even an issue over he-said,Authentic Sean Lee Jersey," Jones said. "There's not even an issue there.", she-said

From the beginning,Womens John Elway Jersey, Jones has supported Elliott, he hoped for closure.,Authentic Trevor Siemian Jersey, who was accused by an ex-girlfriend of domestic violence. Elliott has proclaimed his innocence, and after the Cowboys' season ended in January

That might be coming soon, as the NFL nears the completion of its investigation. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported recently that Elliott's camp is bracing for a short suspension.

Meanwhile, and no witnesses have come forward., a source said Elliott was involved in an incident at a Dallas bar on July 16 that left a man with a nose injury. Dallas police have since suspended the investigation because they have not been able to locate the victim

Jones spoke with Elliott early last week, when players reported to camp., and coach Jason Garrett spoke with Elliott on Friday

"I think Zeke's a smart guy, just like we will with all our players."," Garrett said. "Zeke understands what we're talking about. Zeke understands what the standards are for our football team. I think he understands what he needs to do to reach those standards on and off the football field. We'll continue to work with him

The Cowboys arrived in California after an array of issues the past few weeks. Linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested on July 4 on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Defensive lineman David Irving, who has already been suspended the first four games of the season because of a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, as he has a misdemeanor domestic violence court case set for Monday., did not show up on reporting day Friday and is facing a fine from the team. Wide receiver Dez Bryant arrived late on reporting day. Rookie cornerback Jourdan Lewis is not with the team

we all know as a league -- we discuss this on the Competition Committee -- that this dead period from the last day of minicamp/OTAs ... 'til you actually start training camp is a tough period for every club," executive vice president Stephen Jones said. "Jerry told me when I was young,"I think at the end of the day, 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop,' and so at the end of the day,Womens Cole Beasley Jersey,Womens Sean Lee Jersey, we'd love to have these guys who are around ... going to work every day,Authentic John Elway Jersey,Authentic Von Miller Jersey, and we'll move forward from there., and those are some of the challenges because infallibility is a tough thing. There's no such thing as perfect that I understand in terms of individuals. And so is it disappointing when a player makes a bad decision? Of course it is. It's disappointing,Womens Von Miller Jersey, but you have to deal with it. The players know they're going to be held accountable,Authentic Derek Wolfe Jersey, and they'll have to work through whatever that situation is. We'll have to do the same thing

"But there's no question that this time frame, as we've all seen about what's going on in other markets, and there's something that we want to continue to look at and how we can do better in terms of helping our players and giving them more resources so that they will make better decisions in the future.", all teams have this issue

Jerry Jones: ‘Absolutely Nothing’ To Domestic Violence Charges Against Elliott

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opened the team’s 2017 training camp on Sunday by announcing that there is “absolutely nothing” to lingering reports that star running back Ezekiel Elliott is guilty of domestic violence.

“I found nothing (new) since we were standing here at this time last year,” Jones said. “I knew everything in that report. I knew that at this time last year.”

Jones’ remarks are noteworthy … But not really revelatory. They echo the sentiment the Cowboys have held even after two 2016 accusations against the former Ohio State standout, who last season won the NFL rushing title.

105.5 The Fan has been reporting for more than a week that the NFL wants to meet with Elliott and may punish him due to what sources have called “an accumulation of behaviors.” That doesn’t mean Elliott is guilty of the charges being thrown at him by accusers and by the media – everything from domestic violence to marijuana use to 105.3 The Fan’s exclusive story on Elliott’s involvement in a Dallas nightspot altercation a week ago.

The commissioners office has the latitude to wrist-slap Elliott, really., to hand down a one- or two-game suspension … to do anything it wishes

Elliott’s accuser, a former girlfriend, and the accuser herself stands accused of attempting to blackmail Elliott., alleges incidents in Florida and in Ohio. Law-enforcement officials in both states have cleared the player of any wrongdoing
